Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta

February is the month of Love! A lot of people celebrated Galentine's Day, Valentine's Day, or both. This was my first year celebrating Galentine's Day. Galentine's Day is observed February 13, the day before Valentine's Day. Galentine's Day celebrates platonic friendships, usually among women. I was hosted by Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta to celebrate Galentine's Day with an over night stay and a full itinerary.

When I arrived at Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta, I instantly fell in love with their bold, independent-minded aesthetic woven throughout their lobbies, restaurants to their meeting spaces, and rooms. The room was spacious, had a luxurious feel for a very reasonable price. (Rooms start at only $94 per night). Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta is located in Duluth, Ga.; in the greater Atlanta community. Recently renovated 17 story hotel with 300 guest rooms, including 5 suites and the Preferred Level for business guests. In addition the hotel features ArtBar, a gastro pub with signature dishes and drinks in a local art-inspired atmosphere. Grapevine Restaurant, which is open for breakfast and lunch. A private dining room for small groups and intimate special events, plus an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, health club, sundeck, and free parking. Whether a visit for business or for pleasure, Sonesta Gwinnett's amenities, services, and attentive staff aim to exceed individual guest needs and expectations.

After I settled in, I met up with the other bloggers in the suite. The suite was setup up nicely with heavy horderves, desserts, and a mimosa bar provided by the ArtBar. We had dinner reservations at the Art Bar. The ArtBar at Sonesta Gwinnett is open daily for dinner. The ArtBar provides guest and visitors with a cultural dining experience, complete with locally inspired seasonal dishes, Southern fare, as well as installations by featured local artists. My meal consisted of: Starters: pimento cheese fritters, deviled eggs, blackened shrimp and grits. Salad: Spinach salad. Entree: caramel crusted salmon with edamame basmatic rice, garlic broccolini, lemon beurre blanc. Dessert: Banana Bread Pudding. The meal was spectacular. After dinner, we attended a play at the Aurora Theatre. After the play, we returned to the hotel and ended our evening.

The following morning we enjoyed a delicious complimentary breakfast at the Grapevine Restaurant. The Grapevine Restaurant offers a bright and airy venue with a menu that provides something for everyone.

If you're in need of an escape or a romantic night or two, I highly recommend Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta. They have a special offer right now for a Romance Package; website provided below for additional information.
